Matchstick is a venture firm based in Boulder and Minneapolis, investing $1-1.5M in the most ambitious tech entrepreneurs between the coasts - teaming up at the pre-seed and seed stage to help make their dreams a reality. We focus on startups in Boulder/Denver, Salt Lake City, Austin, Minneapolis, Chicago and Toronto but occasionally invest across the broader Midwest and Rockies regions. We believe entrepreneurs build us all a better future and see our job as helping entrepreneurs navigate the early days to increase the chances of building something big and meaningful.

Matchstick is modeled off the great venture investors we had as founders, mentors and friends. We've seen first hand how impactful a collaborative, supportive and trusting partnership can be between founders and investors. As ex-founders with diverse experiences founding, building and scaling our own companies and helping the hundreds we've invested in, we deeply understand the early-stage challenges and aim to be an entrepreneurs best partner through the early days.

Our partnership is intentionally small: just three partners, who have worked together for over 10 years, working as one, alongside our founders. We've founded a half dozen companies, raised *a lot* of capital, ran 18 Techstars accelerator programs, and invested in over 100 companies.
