We’re excited to share that Nicole Glaros is joining Matchstick Ventures as a Venture Partner.
This is a big day for Matchstick. Not only are we expanding our team to better pursue the growing opportunity set of startups between the coasts, but we also get the chance to reunite with someone we deeply admire, love and trust.
Nicole was one of the first employees at Techstars, most recently serving as a Partner and Chief Investment Strategy Officer, and is an accomplished early-stage investor, having some of the best returns as a Managing Director in Techstars' history and having backed multiple unicorns. Founders love working with her. She’s also a former startup founder, a co-founder of the Denver Women’s Professional Soccer Team and a former board member of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. Her track record is remarkable, and her impact on the startup world is undeniable. Nicole is an incredible addition to our team.
Nicole is based in Boulder and has deep roots in the startup ecosystem. She also has a personal history with us: she hired both of us into Techstars and was our boss when we joined Techstars 10 years ago! She was also the first investor in Natty’s startup back in 2009. Now, we’re thrilled to have the chance to work alongside her again as she’ll help Matchstick find great founders and companies to invest in support the existing and future portfolio, and represent Matchstick in our ecosystems.
As we continue to grow Fund IV, it’s become clear that the opportunity ahead is bigger than just the three of us. Nicole brings deep expertise, sharp instincts, and a founder-first mindset that aligns perfectly with our values.
